This is a great two-day, interactive festival that offers a variety of entertainment and experiences that demonstrate the value of living a greener, healthier and more environmentally-sustainable lifestyle. Featuring the “Mayor’s Challenge,” a competition between South Florida cities to see which is most committed to reducing water consumption, the Wyland Living Green Fair is the largest green-themed event in the region.
A portion of the proceeds benefit the Wyland Foundation . Founded by the renowned environmental artist Wyland, the nonprofit organization helps children and families rediscover the importance of healthy oceans and waterways through public art programs, classroom science education, and live events.
This year, in keeping with the Wyland Living Green Fair’s wellness messages, the fair is collaborating with the fourth annualThink Pink Rocks concert for breast cancer research charities, featuring Flo Rida, Shontelle, Melanie Fiona, Ray J, DJ Cassidy and local American Idol semifinalist Brett Loewenstern. The concert will be held immediately following the fair on Saturday, November 5.
With a focus on health and wellness, the fair has something for every age and interest, including:
- music and stage performances
- food and drinks
- cooking and product demonstrations
- art and exhibitions
- contests, games and entertainment for kids
- organic gardening
- green technology showcase
