4th Annual Think Pink Rocks Concert – Life Publications Beautiful Spread for Breast Cancer Support

4th Annual Think Pink Rocks Concert

to Benefit Breast Cancer Research Charities – November 5

Think Pink Rocks (www.thinkpinkrocks.com), a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer and awareness of the BRCA gene for breast and ovarian cancer, is planning its fourth annual concert in Boca Raton. And what an event this is! Four years of not just great music but philanthropy at its best.

The event takes place Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Count de Hoernle Amphitheater at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, Boca Raton, and will bring the house down with feature performances by Flo Rida, Melanie Fiona, Ray J, Shontelle and DJ Cassidy, along with local American Idol Semi-Finalist Brett Loewenstern.

Think Pink Rocks was created by four women on a mission, Stephanie Robin (Boca Raton), Elizabeth Weprin (Delray Beach), Kathy Fleishman and Amy Seidman (both of Boca Raton). In 2004, at age 36, Stephanie Robin, a mother of two small children, was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. She tested positive for the Breast Cancer Gene (BRCA) and underwent a double mastectomy with reconstruction, a total hysterectomy and months of chemotherapy. The cancer returned to her lungs and is stage IV; she is receiving monthly treatment at Memorial Sloan- Kettering and the tumors have decreased in size by 90%. To look at this sweet, stunning determined woman, you’d think she’s the picture of perfect health. (See Stephanie’s journey page 66.)

Amy Seidman is a breast cancer survivor. Thanks to early detection, Amy was diagnosed in January of 2000 with Intraductal Breast Cancer and had a mastectomy. She is now 10 years cancer free and determined to see to it that women get checked regularly. Amy’s story appears on our website and in our BocaDelray Life magazine.

Working with Steve Rifkind, SRC Records/Universal (Boca Raton), and producer, Kelley Lee, for the 4th year they’ve organized the Think Pink Rocks concert not just to treat concert-goers to a wickedly exciting night, but to advocate for early detection of breast cancer, to raise awareness of the BRCA gene for breast and ovarian cancer, and to raise funds for breast cancer research charities so people like the folks at LIFE PUBLICATIONS can just worry about Halloween in October.

If you’re looking for a great time with some karmic points as a chaser, put this concert on your calendar. Think Pink Rocks is open to the public and tickets are $45 and can be purchased atwww.thinkpinkrocks.com. You’ll sleep better knowing you enjoyed yourself AND did something that will help benefit mankind, and how often does 45 bucks buy that?

ALL proceeds benefit Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, the Boca Raton Community Hospital Women’s Center for Breast Care, and other breast cancer research charities. Think Pink Rocks is presented by SRC Records/Universal and this year the LIFE FAMILY of Publications is honored to have been chosen as media sponsor.

In keeping with Think Pink Rocks’ wellness mission, this year’s concert will coincide with the second annual Wyland Living Green Fair (www.livinggreenfair.com), taking place November 5 and 6 at Mizner Park.
